A Multi-family Dwelling
Fall 2020 | Architectural drafting
This project is a two-family dwelling in the Washington Avenue-Loop neighborhood in St.Louis Missouri. The building draws upon concepts from the Sears Modern Home Catalogue as well as an interlocking joint precedent.
The building creates a space that emulates the impression of a sliding joint with forms that extrude and slip across each other. The dowels in the original joint are translated into inhabitable spaces and also create private areas in the duplex. The structure of the building allows for privacy but also connects interior with exterior spaces through the theme of revealing and extruding.
